Review: Mövenpick Zurich Regensdorf
Staying at Mövenpick Zurich Regensdorf was actually my first stay at a Mövenpick and I can say that did the slogan “Passionately Swiss“ perfect justice. Before I became familiar with the hotels I have known about the restaurants, the food and of course the ice-cream and so I was very looking forward to seeing if the hype is all worth it.
The hotel in Zurich Regensdorf is one of 83 hotels worldwide and one of two hotels in Zurich. If you are looking for ideas what to do and see in Zurich read my tips about my favorite places in Zurich.
The hotel is located close to the Zurich airport and city center, only about a 15-minutes drive. However, though it is quite central, the hotel itself is, so it seems, in a little tiny village and far away from any hustle and bustle of Zurich. I love Zurich and would probably never get tired of it but it seems like a great spot for a quick get-away while you are still quite central.
The hotel itself does not look stunning from the outside but the minute I entered the hotel I felt welcomed.
ll 150 rooms are non-smoking rooms and I was happy to see my spacious and comfortable room as well as a cozy and big bed, and enough space to work. My dog immediately felt happy, and we actually spent quite a lot of time in the hotel. I loved the little note a cleaning lady left and was happy about the room being spotlessly clean.
Nespresso coffee machine in my room and some complimentary bottles of water (still not common in many German hotels for instance) made everything even better and so it happened that I had a very cool and relaxing day at the hotel which included also a lot of food (more about it in my post here).
Sports and Leisure
I stayed for one night and while I did not have enough time to spend time at the health and fitness facilities (well, who am I kidding, I generally only use the pool), I visited the Migros fitness park which is free for hotel guests with direct access from the hotel. I was surprised to see a big indoor pool and while, I was not allowed to take any pictures of it, I must say, walking 2 minutes to the fitness park seems totally worth it.
There are several restaurants at Mövenpick Zurich Regensdorf and I was lucky to have enjoyed two of them as well as also have breakfast (read about my experiences here). The breakfast was great – a good choice with delicious options and so it happened that I had a very healthy breakfast before I started with the hearty and unhealthy food. The weather was perfect and so I ate outside while the waiter brought me some newspapers and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast in a great atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. I was actually thinking about staying at a hotel for my last night in Zurich and this would have been my first choice. The hotel is not directly located in the city center but with a car or by public transport you are still there within a short time. I also think there might not be many hotels in Zurich where you get such great value for your money. This hotel has a lovely and quiet location, a great staff, comfortable rooms, and with its good restaurants and the fitness park, all the facilities you might need.
Disclaimer: I was invited by Mövenpick Zurich Regensdorf, but, as always all the pictures and opinions are my own
